Missing Dog Travels 1,300 Miles To Learn That Her Old Owner Doesn’t Want Her Anymore

Contacting Blue’s Owner
After being found on the streets of Michigan, Blue, a sweet and trembling Pit Bull mix, was taken in by the Humane Society of Midland County.
“We were astonished to find out that Blue’s home was over a thousand miles away in Florida,” said a shelter staffer.
When the shelter contacted the number linked to Blue’s microchip, they discovered her owner was a student in Florida, surprised and relieved to hear that Blue was safe.
Taking The Trip To Florida
Stephanie James, moved by Blue’s story, volunteered to drive her back to Florida. During the journey, Blue displayed immense affection and gratitude.
“Blue rested her head on my shoulder during the ride, showing such love,” Stephanie recalled.
Upon arriving in Florida, Blue recognized her home and eagerly awaited her owner’s return. The reunion was filled with joy and disbelief at how Blue had ended up so far away.
“The joy on Blue’s face when she saw her home was heartwarming,” Stephanie noted.

However, the reunion took an unexpected turn when Blue’s owner expressed her inability to continue caring for Blue due to her busy schedule.
“I was taken aback when they asked us to take Blue back,” Stephanie said, heartbroken by the decision.
Blue looked back at her former home with a sad, confused expression as they drove away. Stephanie reassured Blue, promising her a better future.
Blue Finds A Perfect Forever Home
Upon returning to Michigan, the shelter was inundated with adoption applications for Blue. Robert Allison, mourning the loss of his own Pit Bull, felt an instant connection with Blue and promptly adopted her.
“It was love at first sight for both of us,” Allison shared.
Blue adapted quickly to her new home, showering her new family with love and affection.
“Seeing Blue so happy in her forever home is incredibly fulfilling,” Stephanie expressed with joy.
