When you’re 6’5″ and your legs are an astonishing 134 cm (that’s over 52 inches!), shopping isn’t just a chore—it’s an epic adventure. Meet Miyuki Sugiyama, a remarkable woman who is taking on her biggest challenge yet: finding the perfect wedding dress!
Miyuki, who hails from Ashland, Ohio, has always stood out in a crowd. And not just because of her height! With legs that seem to go on forever, she faces daily questions about her stature. “When I go outside, everybody asks about my height. Literally every single day!”
But it hasn’t always been easy for her. Growing up in Japan, where clothing sizes often cater to a shorter demographic, finding fashionable clothes has been a near-impossible task. “In Japan, everything is so short! I hit my head basically every day!”
Despite the challenges, Miyuki has learned to embrace her long legs. “I used to be shy about my height. I was called a giraffe, and it made me feel awkward,” she recalls. “But now, I see it as a gift!”
And speaking of gifts, Miyuki is now on a quest to find the most important dress of her life: her wedding dress! “Finding a wedding dress is going to be a massive challenge,” she admits. “I’ll definitely need a special length!”
With the wedding of her dreams on the horizon, she’s determined to find a dress that fits not just her height but her style. “I want a dress that shows off my legs a little bit in the front, but is longer in the back. Something high-low!”
But it’s not just about the dress; it’s about confidence. “I want to feel pretty and be confident on my big day,” she declares. “I don’t care what people think. I just want to be myself!”
