Passerby Spots Pile Of Matted Wool And Twigs — Then Realizes It’s Alive

Passerby Spots Pile of Matted Wool and Twigs, Then Realizes It’s a Miracle of Life!

An unexpected discovery in the Victoria bushland sparked an extraordinary rescue mission, revealing the power of human compassion. When a local resident came across a sheep buried under an enormous burden of wool, little did they know that they were about to uncover an uplifting story of survival and hope. The sheep, hidden beneath a heavy coat, could only wait as his fleece made survival in the wild untenable.

Rescue arrived in the form of Edgar’s Mission, a farm sanctuary dedicated to saving such forgotten lives. They sprang into action, shearing off an impressive 88 pounds of matted wool from the sheep, named Alex by his rescuers. As he shed the weight of his past, Alex experienced a remarkable transition. Once again able to stand on his own, he took his first steps toward a new chapter amongst new friends who eagerly awaited his recovery.

@edgarsmission Meet Alex – burdened by 40kg of extra wool and saved by a kind-hearted bushwalker. Watch his incredible transformation from 18 months ago to today! ❤️ Did you know that sheep, like Alex, require at least annual shearing for their welfare? This is a direct result of human selective breeding for wool that is harvested for commercial purposes and speaks to how we have altered their lives. The wild mouflon of Europe and Asia, from whom they are descended, was a coarse-haired animal with a downy undercoat. This body covering responded to the seasons, growing dense and providing protection in the cooler months, only to then be shed in the summer months. #animalrescue #farmsanctuary #friendsnotfood #rescueanimals #sheepshearing #sheepoftiktok ♬ original sound – bree
