The Best Buds In The World
Bonnie and Clyde were inseparable street dogs. Rescued by Stillwater Animal Welfare in Oklahoma, they refused to part ways. Most rescue dogs separate eventually, but not these two. Their loyalty and love enchanted everyone.
Both dogs suffered from heartworms. Thankfully, they responded well to treatments and began to heal. Bonnie and Clyde transformed into shelter lovebugs, showering their rescuers with gratitude and affection.
“Bonnie came to us as a stray with her brother and was never claimed…She is about 45 pounds. Bonnie is heartworm positive. She is good with other dogs so far and loves food.”
Their joy was short-lived. Clyde got adopted, leaving his sister heartbroken. Bonnie shut down, longing for her brother’s return.
“Bonnie is all alone since her brother got adopted, and she definitely misses having a sibling to cuddle with.”
Happily Ever After
Bonnie struggled to adapt without Clyde by her side. She had no idea how to move on, but then something amazing happened. In December, a wonderful woman named Brayden Routh walked into the shelter, hoping to meet Bonnie and give her a loving home.
The connection between Bonnie and Brayden was instant. Bonnie appeared to be waiting for her new mom this entire time. Once adopted, Bonnie found a beautiful family and a warm home. She even gained a big sister – a Blue Heeler named Tally.
In just a few days, Bonnie’s life transformed. She became a happier, more confident dog, eager to embark on new adventures with Tally’s help. Her once hidden personality flourished, and she quickly captured the hearts of her new family.
Bonnie’s social life thrived too, making numerous new friends in her neighborhood. Her newfound happiness warmed her mom’s heart, who shared a proud update on Facebook:
